Heart surgeon admits cholesterol doesn't cause heart attacks, but this does....

It's not often that a heart surgeon admits that he's wrong. It's even more astounding when a heart surgeon admits that everything he's advised for 25 years to prevent heart attacks was wrong. But that's exactly what Dr. Dwight Lundell did this year.

For years, heart surgeons have "insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol," says Dr. Lundell. "The only accepted therapy was prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and a diet that severely restricted fat intake. The latter of course we insisted would lower cholesterol and heart disease. Deviations from these recommendations were considered heresy and could quite possibly result in malpractice."

But now, Dr. Lundell says that the weight of the scientific research has determined conclusively that cholesterol is not what causes heart disease. In fact, he says, "These recommendations are no longer scientifically or morally defensible." In other words, Dr. Lundell believes that the prescribing of statins to lower heart attack risk is immoral!

And he's right! Statins do little to nothing to stop heart attacks and death. In many cases, they may even cause death through congestive heart failure. Plus, Dr. Lundell continues, they treat the wrong problem.

"The discovery a few years ago that inflammation in the artery wall is the real cause of heart disease is slowly leading to a paradigm shift in how heart disease and other chronic ailments will be treated." I hope Dr. Lundell is right about this. Too many people are taking drugs to lower cholesterol when inflammation is the real culprit.

According to Dr. Lundell, "Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended. It is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped."

The key to fighting heart attacks then is to help your body keep inflammation under control. Remember, inflammation is your body's way of healing damage, so you don't want to take a drug that artificially lowers your inflammation. Instead, you need to eat foods and take supplements that work to repair any damage in your body and will naturally lower inflammation (and cholesterol).

The best supplement for lowering inflammation that I've seen and taken is Reduloxin. It contains Meriva®, a form of turmeric that's 29 times more absorbable than traditional turmeric. And turmeric is a fantastic inflammation fighter.

Dr. Lundell performed over 5,000 heart surgeries in his career. He's seen what inflammation can do to your arteries. Don't let it damage your health.
