U.S. government declares dietary cholesterol is no longer a "nutrient of concern"

I was stunned. I couldn't believe what I was reading. The U.S. government's top nutrition advisory panel just decided to drop its warning about dietary cholesterol. We've known for some time that dietary cholesterol was a non-issue. But I couldn't believe someone in the government was finally admitting we were right.

The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee said that cholesterol from foods like eggs doesn't increase your blood cholesterol and it no longer needs to be considered a "nutrient of concern." The medical community was shocked that the panel decided to drop its caution about eating these foods. That's because the decision unravels almost 40 years of government warnings about its consumption.

This is great news. But we still have a lot of work to do. That's because millions of people are still taking statins to lower their blood cholesterol. You probably already know that statins are one of the biggest scams pulled on the American people. The drugs can cause serious muscle pain and weakness. They even affect your most important muscle – your heart – by causing heart failure. Now there's even more evidence that these drugs are downright dangerous. Rather than reducing your risk of cardiovascular disease, they actually increase it!

This news came from a study conducted by researchers from Kinjo Gakuin University in Nagoya, Japan. They claim to have uncovered the mechanism by which statins directly cause your arteries to harden. We've known for some time that coenzyme Q10 was part of this equation. Statins deplete CoQ10. The mitochondria in your body need this nutrient to produce ATP. And your body uses ATP for energy. Your heart is a high energy muscle. So statins have an even bigger effect on the heart muscle than other muscles.

But statins do more than stop the production of CoQ10. They also deplete your body of the protein heme A. This protein transports both iron and oxygen to the heart. Your heart needs both iron and oxygen for energy. Without this protein, your heart's energy supply is further cut off.

What's more, statins also prevent your body from synthesizing vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 stops plaque from forming on your arteries. When plaque clogs your arteries, your heart has to work harder to pump your blood through them. So statins not only destroy your heart's energy, they also force it to work harder on less energy.

A second study found that statins don't just cause cardiovascular disease. The researchers in this study revealed a large number of health problems statins can cause. They said, "The adverse effects suffered by people taking statins are more common than reported in the media and at medical conferences. Increased rates of cancer, cataracts, diabetes, cognitive impairments, and musculoskeletal disorders more than offset the modest cardiovascular benefits of statin treatment." In other words, the rewards don't come close to justifying the risks.

So not only do statins cause the very disease they're supposed to prevent, they also cause numerous other life-threatening ailments. All to lower your cholesterol. I've told you in the past that high levels of cholesterol, even high LDL cholesterol, don't cause heart disease like everyone says it does. It's oxidized LDL that you have to worry about.

So if any of your doctors ever tells you to stop eating high-cholesterol foods because your blood cholesterol is high, ignore them. And if they tell you start taking statins to lower it, it's time to find a doctor who is up on the latest studies.

It's possible high blood cholesterol can cause problems. So if your blood levels are high, don't cut out cholesterol-laden foods and don't take statins. Instead, try nutrients like those in Advanced Cholesterol Formula. It can lower your cholesterol without any of the side effects of statins. And it can help heal any damage that's been done to your arteries.
